The ongoing war in Ukraine has exacerbated the need for emergency trauma care at the pre-hospital and hospital stages. The International Medical Corps, together with Ukrainian partners, has identified several areas that will be useful for medical personnel, in particular, preparation for providing assistance in the event of trauma and mass casualties, as well as in the event of a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive hazard (CBRNE). The International Medical Corps and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons and the World Health Organization (WHO) developed, organized and conducted trainings in Ukraine, which have already been attended by thousands of people.
