FIELD Management

FIELD Management

The programme aims to develop the pool of local and national staff who can prepare for and take charge of in-country operational programmes in chronic, protracted and sudden onset humanitarian settings.

The Field Manager’s role is pivotal in enabling effective humanitarian response, yet many are frequently asked to take on the role with limited prior experience, and often must learn on the job. The Field Manager in Emergencies Learning and Development (FIELD) programme aims to strengthen the local and national capacity of those undertaking this frontline managerial role. This means the capacity of local organisations to find, organise and mobilise staff and resources are improved, which in turn improves the speed and quality of response for those affected.
